Ladies lunch month starts in style with Royal Ascot themed event

The Christie charity’s new ‘Ladies Lunch’ series kicks off in style with a Royal Ascot-themed event in Bolton.

The lunch, on Thursday 17^th June at Retreat Bar and Grill on Chorley New Road, is being organised by Michelle Mercer, from Miglio Designer Jewellery, who is kindly sponsoring the month-long fundraising initiative.

Michelle, from Worsley, said; “This will be a great, glamorous day out for ladies whilst giving something back to a very worthwhile cause. Royal Ascot Ladies day is one of the most unique and colourful occasions on the sporting calendar, as well as on the social calendar, so here’s your chance to dress to impress.”

Ladies are encouraged to wear hats – in keeping with the racing theme – and there will be a tipster and bookmaker at the event if women want to have a flutter.

Michelle added; “I think for many people, including myself, cancer has become a fact of everyday life and whilst this seems very sad, it means that we are becoming more and more prepared to deal with the disease and all that’s associated with it.

“Several members of my family have had cancer and I currently have friends who are undergoing treatment for cancer at The Christie, which is why I am delighted to be supporting the Christie charity’s Ladies Lunch month.”

Tickets for the lunch are priced at £45 and include Champagne on arrival, a three course lunch, prizes for best dressed, entertainment, fabulous raffle prizes, an auction, bookmaker, goody bags and other surprises throughout the day. Miglio jewellery will be available to buy at the event and for every piece bought 10% will be donated to the Christie charity.
